Giorgia Lattanzi, MSPH Health Systems, MA International Development and Cooperation, BA International relations
Giorgia is a public health professional with a strong interest in effective development cooperation, global health governance, health policy and health systems strengthening. She started working in the field of public health in 2009, and has since gained international and headquarters level working experience in project and programme management, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, WASH, and human resources for health.
She completed a Master of Science in Public Health, Health Systems at the Department of International Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2012, with a focus on health systems strengthening and equitable access to health services in low and middle-income countries.
Giorgia started collaborating with hera in 2015 as a public health expert for the Health Advisory Services (HAS) to the European Commission DG INTPA, a role she kept until 2020. In these five years, she has been involved in policy and strategy development, and in a number of studies related to policy development, global health governance, appraisals of key EU partners including WHO and the Global Fund, and supported the development and management of a high-level EU-UNICEF Partnership Dialogue in Health and Education.
She became an associate partner in 2019, and joined as hera partner in 2024. Working with hera, she has participated in multiple programme and project evaluations, often spanning across several countries, applying mixed methods to data collection and analysis, and developing institutional and organisational strategies. Clients include WHO, UNICEF, UNIFEM, the Global Fund, Norad, the European Commission, MSF, PSI and IPPF/SAAF.
Before joining hera, Giorgia lived and worked in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Lesotho, Nicaragua and Peru. Her previous working experience includes working as a Reproductive Health Project Officer for UNFPA Lesotho, where she participated in a technical working group investigating and addressing issues in the end-user distribution of reproductive health commodities throughout the country.
Giorgia is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, Spanish and French
