DESIP National Family Planning in Kenya Learning Conference - Nov 27 & 28, 2023

New Report: THIRD PARTY MONITORING AND EVALUATION FOR DELIVERING SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE INCREASES IN FAMILY PLANNING IN KENYA (DESIP)

This report was developed for presentation at the DESIP National Family Planning in Kenya Learning Conference - Nov 27 & 28, 2023. DESIP is a collaborative initiative supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and implemented in 12 counties across Kenya.

Key Highlights:

  • DESIP aims to enhance the use of modern contraception, particularly among marginalised groups, and to reduce the total fertility rate and unmet need for family planning in Kenya.

  • The programme includes community-level interventions like social behaviour change communication, male engagement, and involvement of community health volunteers; facility and county-level capacity building; and national-level policy and strategy support.

  • Significant partners in the programme include Population Services Kenya, Options Consultancy Services, Faith to Action Network, Health Rights International, and others.

We invite you to explore the report for a detailed understanding of the DESIP programme's impact, challenges, and learnings over the past five years.
